How long have you been in business?
I have been a graphic designer, art director and creative director for the past 14 years. My company, Lori By Design was started in 2009. Prior, I worked with a tourism and lifestyle magazine publisher.
What is your primary product or service?
My primary service is producing high quality graphic designed products that exceed client expectations producing optimal results increasing profit. I excel at matching the company spirit and mission statement in their advertising and promotional media.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I was born a graphic designer. Logo design started while learning to write my name every conceivable way. Taking art lessons in drawing and painting was an excellent foundation for future career opportunities.
Fashion brought together pop culture, color, balance and design. By age 21, I was a retail buyer for a department store chain. Teaching wardrobing to women's groups and new grads through slide presentations, I returned to school for Microsoft Certification and quicly knew I wanted to do more. I started my graphic design degree within a couple months, graduated with highest honors and was hired before finishing my degree designing magazine advertising. Promoted to Lead Artist, Senior Design and eventually Creative Director. I started my own company and almost immediately was awarded government subcontracting projects expanding my diversity.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I enjoy the research and strategic development almost as much as the design work. An ad, brochure, website or presentation say so many things other than words about the company—color, layout and even font choice all express meanings, attitude and emotion. I bring all those elements together for a synergistic approach from ideation to production.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I have one location currently.

I am located in Virginia Beach close to Town Center. Able to meet at your location, local Starbucks, online and by phone.

Accept cash, money order, checks if necessary or can invoice from bank account.

Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
I own and operate my company using outside sources if necessary.
What are your hours of operation?
I am open and accommodating with hours of 8 AM - 6 PM, Monday through Friday. To make a deadline for a client evening and weekends are open too.

I love it, and our clients love it! We saw profits increase dramatically.
